She earned her medical degree from Oklahoma State University, where she conducted research in neuropharmacology with a focus on opioid receptors.

Early in her career, Dr. Martin served as an emergency room physician in multiple rural areas across Arkansas. Her dedication led her to become the ER Medical Director at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where she implemented initiatives to enhance patient care.

In 2020, recognizing the critical need for comprehensive addiction and mental health services, Dr. Martin founded River Valley Medical Wellness. This integrated healthcare clinic bridges gaps in care and has served over 4,000 patients across Arkansas.

Continuing her mission to make high-quality healthcare accessible to all, Dr. Martin launched Arkansas Mobile Opioid Recovery (ARMOR) in April 2024. ARMOR takes mobile clinics directly into rural Arkansas communities, providing comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals and families affected by opioid addiction. The ARMOR team, composed of addiction medicine specialists, counselors, and peer recovery support staff, is dedicated to guiding patients toward lasting recovery.

Dr. Martin's impactful work during the opioid crisis garnered national attention. She was featured in the PBS documentary "7 Days: The Opioid Crisis in Arkansas," directed by Nathan Willis, which received two Emmy Award nominations.

In addition to her clinical endeavors, Dr. Martin holds several leadership positions. She serves as President of the Arkansas Society of Addiction Medicine and is an Executive Board Member of the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care.
